As they continue to expand their global operations, they are seeking a seasoned Principal Platform Engineer with expertise in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) to join our dynamic team.

PRINCIPAL PLATFORM ENGINEER

As the Principal Platform Engineer specialising in Google Cloud Platform, you will play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and optimising cloud infrastructure to support a growing suite of products and services. You will lead the technical strategy for leveraging GCP services, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security across our entire cloud ecosystem. This role requires deep expertise in GCP, strong leadership skills, and a passion for driving innovation through cloud technologies.
 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead the design, implementation, and optimisation of cloud infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform.
  • Develop and maintain automated deployment processes to streamline provisioning, scaling, and management of cloud resources.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define cloud architecture best practices and standards.
  • Architect and implement solutions for high availability, disaster recovery, and data protection on GCP.
  • Drive initiatives to optimise cost, performance, and security of cloud resources.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 10+ years of experience in software engineering or cloud infrastructure, with at least 3 years focused on Google Cloud Platform.
  • In-depth knowledge of GCP services such as Compute Engine, Kubernetes Engine, Cloud Storage, BigQuery, and Cloud Pub/Sub.
  • Proven track record of designing and implementing scalable, highly available cloud architectures.
  • Experience with infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform or Deployment Manager.
  • Excellent understanding of networking concepts and security best practices in cloud environments.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues in large-scale enterprise systems.
